This Standard provides requirements that cover battery systems used in light electric rail (LER) applications and stationary rail applications, such as rail substations. One of this Standard’s key components is the functional safety analysis and testing of battery systems for energy storage hardware and software.
These requirements also cover battery systems that provide energy storage for stationary applications, such as photovoltaics, wind turbines and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units.
