UL 858

Standard for Household Electric Ranges

This Standard outlines safety requirements for household cooking ranges and ovens rated 600V or less. It also covers integrated microwaves and ventilating hoods designed for use with these units.

By specifying maximum surface temperature rises, the Standard helps the outside of ovens stay cooler than the inside during operation, helping to prevent burns from contact with doors, handles or knobs.
