Standard for Furniture Power Distribution Units

This Standard outlines safety requirements for permanently connected furniture power distribution units (FPDU), including pop-up electrical outlets used in kitchen and bathroom countertops. When used in the center of an island or peninsula, these outlets can help to keep cords out of reach of small children, which in turn helps to prevent burns and other injuries that may otherwise ensue from a child pulling on a cord.
