UL 1026

Household Electric Cooking and Food Serving Appliances

This Standard outlines safety requirements for household electric cooking appliances such as slow cookers, pressure cookers and toaster ovens. It requires overheating protection on appliances such as toaster ovens to help reduce the risk of burns and fire. Additionally, it requires that pressure cookers must be able to withstand five times the maximum design pressure to help ensure safe operation.

The Standard also addresses remote user interfaces — such as a phone or computer — to help manage safety risks associated with remote operation.
